Developer SCREEN JUICE has announced that its hack-and-slash roguelike action title Morbid Metal will soon enter Early Access. The game will be available on Steam this summer, with a full release planned for consoles later on. A new trailer was revealed during the Triple-i Initiative Showcase.
Morbid Metal offers a fast-paced action experience where players can seamlessly switch between four distinct characters in real time. Each character features unique abilities and stylish attack patterns, allowing for dynamic combos and flashy, strategic combat. The quick-swap mechanic keeps battles fluid while encouraging tactical decision-making.
The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world ranging from decayed technological ruins to overgrown remnants of human civilization. Levels are semi-procedurally generated, ensuring each run feels unique, filled with diverse enemies and powerful bosses that test your skill and adaptability.
As a staple of the roguelike genre, Morbid Metal combines permadeath with persistent progression. While every failure sends you back to the beginning, unlocking new abilities and upgrades ensures that each new attempt brings you closer to mastery.
