Publisher Hooded Horse has officially picked up C-Beams, an ambitious space action RPG from indie developer Distant Light Games, and it could become one of the most interesting sci-fi titles on the horizon.

Set inside a dangerous black hole system, C-Beams throws you into a futuristic gold rush where corporations, governments, and independent pilots all compete for valuable resources. Starting with little more than a basic ship, you’ll be free to forge your own path through mining, trading, exploration, combat, or a mix of everything.

What immediately stands out is the game’s commitment to realistic Newtonian physics. Ships don’t stop on a dime, and momentum matters. Pilots will need to manage fuel, cargo weight, and maneuvering thrusters while navigating asteroid fields, space stations, and hazardous anomalies scattered throughout the system.

Combat also looks surprisingly deep. You can target enemy ship systems, disable vessels before boarding them, launch missile strikes from a distance, or rely on devastating C-Beam lasers during intense dogfights.

C-Beams is currently heading to Early Access on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, though a release date has yet to be announced.
