Twinkle’s Galactic Tour, an upcoming musical 3D platforming adventure from developer Molegato, was a surprise reveal at the Top Hat Studios Tokyo Game Showcase. Channeling the energy of 90s anime through low-poly graphics, the game creates a rhythmic gameplay loop where every action is a performance. It is slated for release on PC via Steam in 2026.
The game follows Twinkle, a young alien singer whose debut concert spirals into chaos when her audience is scattered across the galaxy. As a result, she embarks on a quest for justice and exploration of artistic struggles. The story also explores her struggles as an artist, new romances, and her strong friendship with her loyal companion Bav. As you play, you will travel through alien worlds, from busy cities to peaceful places with many stars.
The main gameplay mixes precise platforming with musical timing. As Twinkle’s original pop songs play, levels come to life. Platforms move up and down with the melodies, and enemies attack on the drum beats. To get a higher score, you’ll need to master rhythm-based moves, like wall-running to the beat and doing aerial combos.
Beyond the high-energy action stages, the adventure opens up into big hubs you can explore. These hubs are full of side activities, such as tasting exotic alien foods for temporary boosts or using a “hangout system” to grow relationships. Exploration pays off as you’ll find hidden CDs to remix into powerful tools and uncover extra challenges that reveal more about the space music scene.
