Guardians of the Wild Sky feels like a combination of Aloft and Palworld, but it looks like Creatures of Ava

Veteran indie developer Blue Isle Studios, known for titles like Valley and Citadel: Forged With Fire, has revealed a new, nine-minute gameplay overview trailer for its upcoming game Guardians of the Wild Sky. It offers a creative blend of survival, crafting, exploration, and is set to launch later this year on Steam Early Access.

Guardians of the Wild Sky invites you into a world of floating islands and majestic creatures, which can be explored alone or with friends in a custom-built airship. At the heart of the experience is the collection of “Guardians”, magical, mythic animal companions that are not only a source of power but also loyal allies. In other words, you can call them to help with building bases, fight alongside you in combat, or even transform into them to take on new abilities.

What really stands out the most is the crafting system which allows players to forge their own bases and airships, with the freedom to build anything from cozy cottages to flying castles and warships. As founder Alex Tintor notes “the goal was to create an expansive, feature-rich world that can be played in any way a player desires.”

Beyond building, the world is a living, breathing landscape full of dungeons, caves, and hidden treasures. YOu can take on optional challenges like infiltrating cultist bases or fighting massive Titan and Eternal beasts for greater rewards. Alternatively, those looking for a more relaxed experience can indulge in cozy activities like cooking, farming, and fishing, even when surrounded by clouds.
