The Skin Stapler is a PS1-Style Horror Game With a Disturbing Serial Killer

Developed by Tainted Pact Games, horror adventure The Skin Stapler combines PS1-inspired visuals with a crime story set in the decaying streets of Carrion City. Players follow detective Dick Slater and his rookie partner Robbie Knox as they investigate a brutal serial killer known only as The Skin Stapler.

The killer’s crimes are every bit as disturbing as the name suggests. Victims are murdered, skinned, and displayed in grotesque scenes across the city, forcing the detectives to venture deeper into a world of crime, drugs, corruption, and moral decay.

Unlike many modern horror games, The Skin Stapler focuses less on combat and survival mechanics and more on atmosphere, storytelling, and exploration. The experience is designed to be completed in a single sitting, offering a tightly paced narrative filled with unsettling discoveries and dark humor.

A free demo released earlier this year has surpassed 25,000 downloads and generated strong feedback across Steam and itch.io. It is scheduled for release later this summer on Steam.
