The INDIE Live Expo Showcase returned over the weekend with a packed lineup of amazing indie titles, giving players a look at some of the most promising games on the horizon. Here are 15 unique games that caught our attention.
.45 PARABELLUM BLOODHOUND is an upcoming cyberpunk game where you play as Reila Mikazuchi, a former elite mercenary known as a “killing machine,” who is trying to rebuild her life after a period of deep depression. It features real-time movement and dodging combined with a pause-to-plan system. An action gauge fills based on character and weapon stats: when full, time pauses so you can chain attacks, skills, and positioning. Inspired by games like Parasite Eve but with a unique Sukeban twist.
OMEGA PHENEX COMMENCED PROJECT SIX
OMEGA PHENEX COMMENCED PROJECT SIX is a fast-paced mech action game where you pilot the highly maneuverable humanoid mech called Icarus. The game emphasizes intuitive controls, overwhelming speed, and the ability to unleash massive missile barrages while engaging large enemy armies and rival mechs. Combat takes place across dynamic environments, from skimming the surface of the sea to soaring through the clouds, delivering tactile and explosive mech battles.
Better Than Dead
Better Than Dead is a raw, photorealistic bodycam revenge FPS set in the gritty underbelly of Hong Kong. You play as a survivor who has endured unimaginable trauma: kidnapped, filmed, and broken by her captors. Now she’s done running. Armed with a pistol, a bodycam, and an unrelenting kill list, she launches brutal raids across neon-lit restaurants, seedy nightclubs, back alleys, and rooftops inspired by classic 80s and 90s Hong Kong action cinema like John Woo films.
CRYMELIGHT
CRYMELIGHT is the latest entry in FURYU’s “Dark Bishoujo Action” CRY series, following Crystar and Crymachina. It is a stylish roguelike action game set in a twisted Wonderland that serves as a prison for souls in the afterlife. You play as Alice, a young amnesiac girl guided by the White Rabbit, who must participate in a deadly game to defeat the Queen and earn her freedom and rebirth. Along the way, she teams up with other girls burdened by sins, confronts painful pasts through emotional story moments, and grows stronger by facing regrets.
Feather’s Edge is a stylish new 2D kinetic metroidvania where you play as Upu, a Hoopoe bird warrior, dashing and slashing through a rich, handcrafted world inside the collapsing Tower of Time. The tower, once eternal, is fracturing due to the collapse of time itself, with floating sections, irregular time flows, and rifts that players must navigate while racing against total collapse. You chart your own path upward, slicing through foes in fast-paced, bite-sized battles that emphasize precision, quick thinking, and mastery of movement and combat abilities.
Well Dweller is a dark fairy-tale metroidvania from the creator of indie hits like Crypt Custodian and Islets. You play as Glimmer, a tiny bird armed only with a matchstick, who must venture from the bottom of a well to burn the wicked queen and save his family before they become part of her royal gown. The game features a whimsical yet morbid kingdom filled with charming characters living in a wretched, rotting underbelly. You will explore handcrafted environments, befriend NPCs, battle terrifying beasts, solve puzzles, and uncover secrets and mysteries.
Tiny Delivery is a charming cozy narrative game where you play as a small food delivery robot on what starts as a simple task – delivering an order through a neighborhood. The journey quickly turns into a heartfelt adventure filled with little stories, complete with hidden secrets, spontaneous moments, and gentle reminders of life’s quiet beauty. As the kindest troublemaker on wheels, you can steal, borrow, deliver, and meddle your way through lively streets, interacting with unsuspecting locals by kicking balls with kids, helping a struggling fisherman, or even knock things over.
Lelu is a black-and-white action-adventure game where you play as Lelu, a small but determined clockwork toy who has suddenly gained consciousness and a strong desire for freedom. Trapped in a labyrinthian toy factory ruled by an eccentric guardian, you must navigate dangerous environments filled with puzzles, traps, conveyor belts, electrifying circuits, and dangers while battling toys.
Maseylia: Echoes of the Past is an atmospheric 3D Metroidvania that blends classic exploration and ability-driven progression with modern 3D movement and platforming. You play as a spirit-like protagonist navigating a vast, interconnected techno-organic labyrinth where nature and machinery have fused into surreal, ever-changing environments. Liminal Point is a psychological survival horror game that pays homage to genre classics while delivering a modern, spine-chilling experience that blurs the line between reality and nightmares. You and your partner take on the roles of adventurers tasked with defeating the Demon King and his Bondbreaker invention by using Duo Energy, a power fueled by the strength of your bond.
