Developer RibCage Games has announced that its rhythm-action roguelite Alpha Nomos will launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, joining the previously announced PC (Steam) version, which is scheduled for release in 2026.
In Alpha Nomos, every attack, dodge, and special ability is synchronized to the soundtrack. Players control Cello, battling corrupted puppets across procedurally generated arenas where staying on rhythm increases damage, while missing the beat makes encounters more challenging.
Instead of relying on digital sample libraries, every weapon sound was recorded using live musicians. Chief Technology Officer Emil Lager explained: “We recorded every weapon with real players in a real room. You can hear someone’s hands in it. That mattered more to us than almost anything else, and it’s what we wanted people on console to hear.”
You will also unlock audio-based power-ups such as Reverb, Delay, and Flanger, which dynamically alter both combat mechanics and the soundtrack. Set in a surreal “puppetcore” world of ruined cities and abandoned circuses, the game combines roguelite progression with a reactive musical experience.
