Publishers ByteRockers’ Games and PARCO GAMES have announced that the hand-drawn Metroidvania Constance will launch for Nintendo Switch 2 on July 30. Players who already own the game on the original Nintendo Switch will be able to upgrade to the new version at no additional cost.
The Switch 2 release introduces two enhanced display options. Performance mode can run at up to 120 frames per second, while quality mode targets a resolution of 1440p. It will also feature revised audio and integrated achievements.
Constance follows a paintbrush-wielding artist exploring an interconnected inner world shaped by her declining mental health. Players can transform into paint to travel through floors and walls, avoid hazards and reach previously inaccessible locations.
Additional brush techniques are unlocked throughout the adventure, expanding both combat and traversal options. Progression involves defeating enemies, completing platforming challenges and solving puzzles while uncovering memories connected to Constance’s personal struggles.
The nonlinear world contains six biomes, each representing a different part of the protagonist’s psyche and history. Players can also discover alternative routes, side quests, collectibles, hidden areas and boss encounters.
Constance originally launched for PC via Steam on November 24, 2025. PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch versions followed on May 1, 2026.
