Solo developer Sean Young (Magicite, Kindergarten) has announced the monster-collecting RPG game Monsterpatch. This title is inspired by old Pokémon games and offers a unique combination of retro-inspired mechanics with elements of farming and city-building. It puts you in the role of a magical wizard exploring a floating continent full of magical creatures called MoNs.

With an ancient wand and a spellbook, the goal is to catch and train MoNs, battle rival wizards, and engage in activities like logging, mining, and growing crops. The battles are fast-paced and strategic, with a 4v4 system that allows teams to be customized according to needs. Besides combat, the game also offers relaxing activities like growing crops and interacting with NPCs who can settle in the town as it progresses.

The Kickstarter campaign will launch on March 25th, although the exact release date is not yet known. This title is expected to be available for PC via Steam and very likely for Nintendo Switch.
