We have some slightly disappointing news from publisher Apogee Entertainment. The survival horror title Total Chaos, which drew attention during recent showcases, has been delayed from July 24 to the fourth quarter of 2025. Developer Trigger Happy Interactive says the extra time is needed to ensure the game fulfils its vision of a creepy and unforgettable journey.
The ruins of Fort Oasis hide unspeakable horrors in the shadows. To survive, you’ll need to gather essential resources and craft gear in abandoned apartments, decaying structures, rusted hallways, and terrifying graveyards. The Madness system distorts perception, blurring the line between reality and hallucination, while shifting walls and hidden paths reveal valuable loot, protected by grotesque monstrous creatures.
According to Sam Prebble, lead developer and head of Trigger Happy Interactive, Total Chaos is more than just a game: “Every shadow, every sound, every silence has meaning. This release date shift allows us to ensure that the journey into Fort Oasis is as eerie and unforgettable as it needs to be.” He added that the island awaits players, and it won’t let them leave unchanged.
Total Chaos blends the best elements of classic and modern horror games, drawing inspiration from Silent Hill, Amnesia, and Resident Evil. It will be available on PC via Steam, with a VR version to follow. Prebble also announced a paid DLC called Epilogue, which will expand the story with new locations and a tenth chapter.
