Drawing badly across your own character has finally become a useful competitive skill. Meccha Chameleon is available now for Nintendo Switch 2, bringing LEMORION’s colourful multiplayer hide-and-seek game to consoles following its PC debut in June.
Matches divide players into Hiders and Seekers. The hiding team can paint colours and patterns directly onto their white chameleon-like bodies, attempting to copy nearby walls, furniture and environmental decorations. Seekers must identify and catch everyone before the timer expires.
The result sits somewhere between prop hunt and an improvised art competition. A player might choose the correct colours but betray themselves with an unnatural pose, while a rough drawing can still work if it matches the surrounding shapes from a distance.
That premise feels particularly well suited to shorter handheld sessions, although the Switch 2 version requires a persistent internet connection. Nintendo’s listing also warns that it doesn’t support cloud save backups. Individual players need compatible controllers when playing multiplayer.
Meccha Chameleon launched during the September 9 Nintendo Direct at a discounted American price of $4.79. It will return to its standard $5.99 price after September 16. Regional pricing naturally varies through the Nintendo eShop.
The original Steam edition arrived on June 9, meaning LEMORION has produced the console conversion remarkably quickly. Details concerning cross-platform play weren’t included in the announcement, so PC and Switch 2 players shouldn’t assume they can share matches. We previously examined why the small project stands out in our Meccha Chameleon opinion piece.
