Truckful has found space for folk horror inside a physics-based delivery game. MythicOwl’s rural driving adventure will launch for PC through Steam and Android through Google Play on October 9, followed by PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions at an unannounced later date.
Published by Pocketpair Publishing, Truckful hands players an ageing pickup and sends them across winding roads, wetlands, dusty lowlands and small countryside settlements. Villagers provide errands involving cargo ranging from rapidly warming fish to extremely breakable family possessions.
Packing the truck is part of the challenge. Objects have different shapes and physical behaviour, so reaching a destination means considering how everything is positioned before driving like the local roads have personally offended you.
Successful deliveries provide assistance, scrap and opportunities to improve the vehicle. Upgrades can increase its carrying capacity, weight handling and performance, making more demanding routes manageable. Anyone attracted to this kind of work can also read about Easy Delivery Co.’s move to consoles.
That would already provide a pleasant foundation for a compact driving game, but Truckful’s countryside isn’t quite as welcoming as it looks. Hidden paths lead through misty swamps, marshes and quicksand, while stories surrounding an ancient forest gradually introduce a larger mystery. Pocketpair’s description repeatedly suggests that something is watching from beyond the road.
Google Play pre-registration is available now. Truckful will also be playable at Tokyo Game Show 2026 after being selected for the event’s Selected Indie 80 showcase. No launch timing has been confirmed for its PlayStation editions.
