Following its Early Access launch on October 7, 2025, Seafarer: The Ship Sim is now receiving its first major free content update. The LNG & Bulk Update significantly expands the simulation’s gameplay by introducing new ships, cargo types, and varied random events for players navigating the open sea.

Since the initial release, players have been primarily focused on transporting containers for Crescentport Logistics. Now, new possibilities are being added, expanding the scope of cargo transport to include both liquefied natural gas (LNG) and bulk materials.

To accommodate these tasks, two new vessels have been introduced:

  • The “Willy”: A ship specifically designed for transporting bulk goods such as sand.
  • The “Nordic Duchess”: The ideal gas tanker for carrying volatile LNG cargo.

In addition to new vessels and cargo mechanics, the update includes various performance optimizations and bug fixes for smoother voyages. New random events have also been incorporated to bring more variety to the open sea, such as opportunities to assist other vessels in distress.

Seafarer: The Ship Sim is currently available for PC in Early Access via Steam and the Epic Games Store, and you can also check our review of the game here.
