After its strong launch in late 2025, the roguelite beat ’em up Absolum is getting its first major expansion. Developers Guard Crush Games and Supamonks, together with publisher Dotemu, have revealed Patch 1.1 called Threads of Fate. The free update is set to arrive in early 2026 on PC via Steam, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch, and it is focused on expanding the endgame for the four main heroes: Galandra, Brome, Cider, and Karl.
The heart of the update is a new endgame feature known as Mystic Ordeals. These special challenges unlock after players defeat the final boss and are built around fixed rules and higher difficulty. Each ordeal is designed to push combat builds to their limits and give experienced players a reason to keep coming back. You can also create your own custom rule sets and share them with others using simple codes, making it easy to challenge friends or the wider community.
The update also changes how the world of Talamh behaves through a new Evolving World system. Corrupted areas will now appear on the world map, spreading from random portals. Entering these regions means facing much stronger enemies, but the rewards are also far greater. For those looking for an extreme test, the Ordeals system can be used to increase how often these corruptions appear, turning large parts of the world into dangerous high-level zones filled with powerful foes.
To help you survive these harsher conditions, Threads of Fate adds Elite Mounts to the game. These rare mounts can be found in the wild and are stronger than regular ones. They move faster, take more damage, and offer improved crowd-control attacks that are especially useful during intense fights. Alongside these gameplay changes, the update brings new cosmetic rewards as well. You can unlock hero skins through the sacred tree and use new emotes with voiced lines.
