Burn-9 is a ‘Reverse Metal Gear’ Where Information Is Your Most Powerful Weapon

Announced by Fellow Traveller and 14 Hours Productions, Burn-9 is being described as a “reverse Metal Gear.” Instead of sneaking through enemy territory yourself, you’ll play as an Operator directing an elite field agent named Dodo from the safety of your computer.

After a top-secret mission goes catastrophically wrong, Dodo becomes the sole survivor of her squad. Your job is to guide her through hostile territory using surveillance tools, intelligence systems, and military-grade hacking technology. Every piece of information you uncover presents a difficult decision: what should be shared, what should remain hidden, and who can actually be trusted?

The game places a strong emphasis on moral choices and political intrigue. As pressure mounts from military leadership and events on the ground, players will constantly find themselves weighing mission objectives against their own sense of right and wrong.

Burn-9 launches for PC via Steam in 2026. You won’t have to wait too long to try it as a playable demo is scheduled to appear during Steam Next Fest later this month.
