Hooded Horse and Pavonis Interactive have announced Dark Skies, the first downloadable expansion for the sci-fi grand strategy game Terra Invicta. Launching on July 27, 2026 the DLC introduces two alternate history scenarios that dramatically reshape humanity’s struggle against the alien invasion.

The expansion explores two different “what if” timelines. The first, Broken Earth, imagines a world devastated by nuclear war after the Cuban Missile Crisis escalated into global catastrophe. Set a century later, players must unite a fractured civilization and rebuild enough strength to confront the extraterrestrial threat.

The second scenario begins in 2003, during the US invasion of Iraq, with the alien fleet still two decades away from reaching the Solar System. This extended timeline gives players more time to develop technology, expand political influence and prepare Earth’s defenses while uncovering covert alien activity operating behind the scenes.

In addition to the new starting scenarios, Dark Skies includes new research projects, technologies and gameplay opportunities designed for longer campaigns on Earth before the conflict expands into space. Players will also receive two new spaceship visual sets inspired by NASA engineering and industrial hard science fiction, offering additional customization options for their fleets.

Terra Invicta – Dark Skies will be available on July 27, 2026, for PC via Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store. The base game is currently available for €39.99.
