Nintendo Switch 2 Leak Hints at Redesigned LCD Screen and Possible Hardware Revision

A newly surfaced leak suggests Nintendo may be preparing a revised version of the Nintendo Switch 2, potentially addressing one of the handheld’s most frequently criticized components: its LCD display.

According to images first spotted on a Chinese resale marketplace and highlighted by Nintendo Everything, the new display panel appears to be manufactured by Sharp instead of InnoLux, the Taiwan-based company that supplies the current Switch 2 screen. The leaked hardware reportedly features redesigned circuitry, connectors and ribbon cables, indicating a more substantial internal revision rather than a simple component replacement.

Nintendo Patents Watch also examined the images, noting that the exposed circuitry and connector layout differ significantly from the existing model. While the current InnoLux panel already incorporates Sharp-produced LTPS glass, making any direct improvement in image quality uncertain, the redesigned internal components suggest Nintendo could be refining the display hardware behind the scenes.

One area many players hope Nintendo will improve is the Switch 2’s LCD response time. Some owners have reported noticeable motion blur during fast-paced gameplay in handheld mode, making moving objects appear less sharp than expected. Although the issue may not be obvious to every player, it has become a common point of discussion among display enthusiasts and those comparing the console with other portable devices.

Nintendo has not officially commented on the leaked display images, so the reported hardware changes should be treated as speculation until the company provides confirmation.
