Indie publisher Fellow Traveller and developer Jump Over the Age released Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector this Friday, a narrative RPG inspired by tabletop games with a dice-rolling mechanic. The game is available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Game Pass, and it has already garnered a 97% “Very Positive” rating on Steam and surpassed 1,000 concurrent players within 14 hours of its launch. However, this number may not reflect the game’s true popularity, as it doesn’t include players on Xbox Game Pass.
Citizen Sleeper 2 managed to double the concurrent player count on Steam compared to its predecessor, which came out nearly three years ago. The first installment currently holds a 93% positive rating from over 5,755 reviews, demonstrating the enduring appeal of narrative RPGs. Furthermore, the game achieved an impressive 85 score on Metacritic, further solidifying its success.
Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector puts players in the role of an android with amnesia who is fleeing their corporate creators and a gang intent on exploiting them for nefarious purposes. With bounty hunters on their trail and their own body malfunctioning, you must survive a journey through the Starward Belt, a network of improvised space settlements.
