Even the most seasoned block-stacking masters will have to rethink their strategies in the upcoming game Drop Duchy. This new strategic roguelite hybrid is expected to launch later this year for PC via Steam, brought to us by publisher The Arcade Crew (known for The Last Spell and Infernax) and developer Sleepy Mill Studio. A playable demo will be available on Steam in the coming weeks.

Drop Duchy puts a unique twist on the classic block-stacking formula. Instead of simply clearing lines, you’ll strategically build a kingdom using different types and shapes of tiles. The game challenges you to place structures near forests, streams, or grassy plains to make the best use of natural resources and build a thriving realm. Additionally, mercenary camps benefit from being placed next to certain terrain types, creating a balance between gaining advantages and denying your opponents key benefits before battle.

You can also unlock upgrades and modifiers in the form of cards, gaining new structures that provide bonuses, soldier recruitment perks, resource-gathering boosts, and other benefits through deep deck customization. If your forces fall before conquering a fortress, you can quickly start a new run and experiment with a different strategy.
