Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025, important gaming showcase and convention, is set to kick off in Cologne on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 8 PM CEST. Hosted by Geoff Keighley, the two-hour showcase from Hall 1 of the Koelnmesse will feature a packed lineup of world premieres, new trailers, and gameplay reveals. A 30-minute pre-show hosted by Kyle Bosman will precede the main event at 7:30 PM CEST.

Confirmed Games & Announcements

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 – This highly anticipated FPS sequel will have its worldwide reveal, showcasing its futuristic 2035 setting, co-op campaign, and dedicated zombies mode.

Resident Evil Requiem – Capcom will provide an exclusive look at the next chapter in its horror series, set in Raccoon City and offering players a choice between first- and third-person perspectives.

Ghost of Yotei – A sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, this PS5 exclusive is expected to reveal new gameplay or a trailer, continuing the open-world action-adventure story.

Silent Hill f – Konami will showcase a new trailer for this action-focused horror game, which incorporates Japanese horror influences and is scheduled to launch in September 2025.

The Outer Worlds 2 – Obsidian Entertainment’s sci-fi RPG sequel is confirmed to appear with a new trailer or gameplay reveal.

Ninja Gaiden 4 – Team Ninja’s brutal action series is set to reveal new details, likely including a trailer or gameplay snippet.

World of Warcraft: Midnight – Blizzard will premiere the opening cinematic for its next MMORPG expansion, which teases the introduction of player housing.

Lords of the Fallen 2 – A sequel to the 2023 action RPG has been cryptically teased for a reveal.

Predictions & Other Highlights

While the confirmed lineup is already extensive, Hollow Knight: Silksong is a major source of speculation. Despite claims from industry insiders that no release date will be announced, the game’s confirmed playable demo at the event suggests an update is possible. Other speculated reveals include 007 First Light, Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, and Marvel Cosmic Invasion.
