Narrative puzzle adventure Gloomy Eyes is set to launch on September 12, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Developed by Fishing Cactus with co-production from Atlas V, 3dar, and Be Revolution Gaming, the game adapts the award-winning 2019 VR experience into a non-VR format, making its hauntingly beautiful story accessible to a wider audience.

Described as a “cozy horror” experience, Gloomy Eyes tells the story of Gloomy, a mysterious zombie child, and Nena, a mischievous human girl, who form an unlikely bond in a fantastical world. The setting, inspired by the gothic aesthetics of Tim Burton, is a world plunged into eternal night and torn apart by conflict between the living and the undead. It explores themes of loneliness, difference, and love as the duo embarks on a quest to restore sunlight to their world.

The gameplay features an innovative “self-coop” mechanic, where players alternate between controlling Gloomy and Nena. Each character has unique abilities that are used to solve clever environmental puzzles and navigate handcrafted, rotatable dioramas. This system allows for brain-teasing challenges that are integral to the story’s progression.
