Traega Entertainment has announced the release date for its upcoming open-world survival game, Dawn of Defiance, which draws heavy inspiration from ancient Greek mythology. A new trailer showcases highly customizable base-building systems, and you’ll be able to dive into the game on August 15 on PC.

In Dawn of Defiance, unrest is growing in the Underworld. Players, spared from death by Charon, the ferryman of Hades, find themselves on a mysterious shore. Here, they must prove their worth from scratch, gathering resources and defending themselves against various threats, including newly revealed enemies: the Gorgons. Similar to games like Enshrouded, you can play Dawn of Defiance with up to three friends in online co-op multiplayer.

As you explore the game’s vast landscapes, you’ll encounter diverse environments such as coastal cliffs, misty forests, dark caves, and scorching sand dunes. Each area is rich in resources and hidden treasures essential for survival and progression. Combat in Dawn of Defiance is equally demanding. You’ll need to grow stronger, craft unique weapons and armor, and face off against wild creatures and corrupted heroes.

The studio has ambitious plans for Dawn of Defiance during its Early Access period. They aim to introduce new features including character customization, new enemy types, spell upgrades, and more. Community feedback will play a major role in shaping the game’s future, with major updates, such as map expansions and new biomes, expected over the next two to three years.

You can wishlist Dawn of Defiance now on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
