Knights Peak Games and Windup Games have revealed a new title for their Scandinavian folklore-inspired adventure Hela: of Mice & Magic. The name change emphasizes the game’s two core pillars: the brave mice protagonists and the enchanting magic woven throughout the world. The game is slated for release in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.

Players step into the role of a small but agile mouse assisting a kind witch in protecting the land she has guarded for generations. A magical froggy backpack grants access to higher places and distant corners, enabling exploration across forests, meadows, wetlands, and burrows. The journey can be experienced alone or with companions in cooperative play.

Nature serves as far more than a backdrop in this world. The development team has crafted an environment that functions almost like a living character, shaped by music and sound design.
