Sabotage Studio’s Sea of Stars, the RPG released in 2023, is soon getting a new expansion. Following the Dawn of the Equinox update, which introduced cooperative play and a revamped combat system, the upcoming DLC Throes of the Watchmaker brings a new campaign set after the main story, available for free on May 20, 2025, for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
Throes of the Watchmaker brings back protagonists Zale and Valere, along with the mysterious Watchmaker from the original story, in an eight-hour adventure set in Horloge, a miniature clockwork world created by the Watchmaker. Although the DLC takes place after the main events of Sea of Stars, it functions as a standalone experience with a new progression system, unique classes, skills, and combos.
Additionally, a new companion, the Artificer, joins the duo on their journey. The expansion also introduces new maps, puzzles, and enemies. Like the previous Dawn of the Equinox update, Throes of the Watchmaker will be completely free for all owners of Sea of Stars.
