Indie studio QUICKFIRE GAMES has announced a Kickstarter campaign for their new tactical RPG Prelude Dark Pain, which will begin on April 29th. It will enter Early Access next year on Steam for now, and the exclusive soundtrack is being worked on by the renowned Japanese composer Kumi Tanioka (Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Minecraft).
Plot of Prelude Dark Pain is set in a dark fantasy world where a group of heroes, led by the local blacksmith Soren, confronts evil forces. It brings more than 20 different characters that can be combined into teams, with each having unique, upgradable skills and talents.
The game world is open for exploration, featuring hand-crafted characters and battlegrounds. Player decisions influence the development of the story, which encompasses over 20 different nations and cultures and more than 70 different enemies. As stated by Arturo Martín, co-founder of QUICKFIRE GAMES, the goal is to create a deep experience inspired by classic tactical RPGs.
The first gameplay trailer has also been released, providing insight into the dark fantasy atmosphere and strategic battles the game offers.
