The Bustling World is a Chinese Kenshi-Like Game Featuring a Huge Open World

Chinese developer FireWo Games announced an open-world action RPG in the Chinese style, The Bustling World, for PC (Steam). No release date has been announced, but a Kickstarter campaign is underway.

Players can farm, raise animals, craft, build cities, establish regimes, govern states, conduct diplomacy, and wage wars. The main features are openness and unlimited freedom, where the world reacts to player decisions and actions.

All characters have their own lives, families, and social connections, making independent decisions regarding work, leisure, or relocation. Their choices are influenced by personality, family ties, and interactions with the player. For example, offending someone may have consequences, like sabotaging trade.

Cities dynamically evolve. NPCs form relationships ranging from diplomacy to war. Returning to a city after some time may reveal a completely changed environment. The game’s AI provides unique responses to every action and choice, creating a distinctive gameplay experience.

The game features a clean, simple art style, with particularly impressive real-time lighting and shadows. It includes over 60 plants, 30 animals, realistically reproduces ancient Chinese handicrafts (cooking, weaving, smelting, etc.), and with nearly 2,000 building components, players can construct virtually any building.

These are just some of the game’s features. More information is available on Steam, and the game faithfully simulates life with Chinese traditions.
