Following two years of development and a successful Kickstarter campaign, the studio Springfox Games has announced the launch of Nif Nif, a family-friendly roguelike deck builder. Scheduled to launch on Steam on April 1st with a price of €19.99, Nif Nif invites players to join a little piglet and his grumpy cat on an adventure to rescue their forest friends from the evil Goo mass.

The game combines roguelike elements with deck-building mechanics. You will explore procedurally generated maps, fight enemies by strategically using cards, and face challenging final bosses. What sets Nif Nif apart is its focus on inclusivity and accessibility. Inspired by the game director’s son, who is on the autism spectrum, Nif Nif is designed to be neurodivergent-friendly, aiming to provide a comfortable and supportive environment for everyone.

The game also includes gardening and cooking mini-games, where you can collect seeds, plant them, and cook delicious soups that grant you buffs for your adventures. This system adds an extra layer of strategy, as you must decide which soups to take with you to increase your chances of success.

Starting today, a new demo version of Nif Nif is available on Steam, allowing players to explore its playful world. We also had the opportunity to interview Masha Mallet, the game director, and you can read the full interview here to learn more about the development process and the vision behind the game.
