The critically acclaimed sci-fi adventure 1000xRESIST may be preparing for a Nintendo Switch 2 release after a new ESRB rating for the platform appeared online. The listing was spotted by Wario64, adding to speculation that the narrative-driven indie title is making its way to Nintendo’s latest console.

The new rating lists Fangamer as the publisher but does not confirm a release date or a new edition of the game. ESRB listings are commonly updated when games are released on new platforms or receive enhanced versions, so the appearance of a Switch 2 rating does not necessarily indicate a major re-release.

Originally developed by Sunset Visitor and published by Fellow Traveller, 1000xRESIST launched for PC and Nintendo Switch in May 2024 before arriving on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in late 2025. Nintendo has already confirmed that the original Switch version is compatible with Switch 2 through backward compatibility.

Set 1,000 years after humanity is nearly wiped out by an alien-borne disease, the game follows the Watcher, a member of a clone society ruled by the immortal ALLMOTHER. Through fragmented memories, players gradually uncover the truth behind the world’s creation in a story exploring themes such as identity, trauma, immigration, and cyclical violence.

Blending third-person exploration with visual novel storytelling and puzzle-solving, 1000xRESIST has earned widespread praise for its narrative and unique presentation. While the ESRB listing stops short of confirming a release, it strongly suggests the acclaimed indie title could soon receive a native Nintendo Switch 2 version.
