Zenovia, the developer known for Steel Assault, has announced its latest project Neon Inferno. This new game combines elements of 2D run-and-gun and gallery-shooter genres and is set in futuristic New York City in the year 2055. The game is scheduled for release on PC via Steam in 2025.

In Neon Inferno, players find themselves in a dystopian future where New York City is engulfed in internal conflict. The city is divided among criminal syndicates that control most districts, battling both each other and the corrupt NYPD for dominance. Amid this chaos, players assume the role of an assassin working for a rising crime family attempting to gain power in the fractured metropolis.

The environments range from devastated Bronx slums, where gang wars and police brutality rage, to lavish, neon-lit gardens inside Manhattan, where the elite enjoys relative peace, though not for long. As players navigate these contrasting locations, they encounter intense combat across both foreground and background, blending side-scrolling and gallery-shooting mechanics.

Neon Inferno features a distinct 32-bit pixel art style that captures the essence of its sci-fi urban landscape, accompanied by an impressive soundtrack. The game supports two-player co-op, allowing friends to tackle the city’s dangers together. For those seeking a challenge, Arcade Mode tests even the most skilled players, while a more accessible easy mode offers a satisfying experience.
