Polymorph Games has announced that the full version of their medieval city-builder Foundation will officially release on January 31, 2025. After more than five years in Early Access on Steam, the game is finally ready to launch with numerous new features, content updates, and improvements designed to elevate the experience for newcomers and long-time fans alike.
You can now customize your game sessions with adjustable rules, allowing for either a relaxed or challenging playstyle. The redesigned Aspirations feature encourages diverse village layouts, whether you focus on religious orders or grand fortresses. User experience upgrades include a redesigned interface, improved onboarding for new players, and a photo mode to capture your village’s beauty. Additionally, the fully updated art style brings enhanced visual quality, animations, and dynamic environmental changes.
Village customization has also been expanded with improved residential tiers, a better progression system, and a revamped military system where players can send companies abroad to gather valuable resources. The new Heraldry system lets you create unique crests, while the addition of paved roads and integrated walls enhances both strategy and aesthetics.
To celebrate the upcoming release, Polymorph Games has launched a demo version of Foundation. The demo offers an endless mode with access to early-game features such as housing, trading, fortifications, patrols, and the improved UI. It’s a great way for players to try the latest updates ahead of the full launch.
As the release date approaches, the price of Foundation will increase from €29.99 to €34.99 starting December 18, 2024. This reflects years of development, an expanded team, and the investment needed to deliver a high-quality product.
