The new year has only just begun, and January has proven to be a month that delivered a very good selection of games for indie fans. We saw titles such as Eternal Strands, ReSetna, or Hyper Light Breaker, and the second month, while bringing a multitude of AAA games that will certainly capture attention, will also deliver many new, innovative, and high-quality indie titles.
In SWORN, players can combine their characters’ unique abilities to unite with friends and fight powerful foes, including corrupted knights and King Arthur himself. The goal of the game is to swear allegiance to the mystical Fae Lords to gain access to over 200 unique blessings. These powers allow for incredible character customization and the unlocking of various abilities.
Although the release date hasn’t been officially revealed yet, Kaiserpunk is expected to launch this February. In Kaiserpunk, you start by establishing a small city, focusing on infrastructure and industry to grow your population and resources. However, the ultimate goal is far more grandiose: to expand your microstate into a vast empire and conquer neighboring nations, often through military force. The game promises strategic depth with decisions that shape your nation’s ideological and geopolitical direction.
Keep Driving is a management RPG where you slowly make your way through a procedurally generated pixel open world. You must pick up hitchhikers with their own personalities and stories, as well as upgrade, customize, and repair your car. Additionally, you’ll solve roadside challenges using a unique turn-based “combat” system, utilizing your skills and what’s in your glove compartment to successfully complete the game.
In Urban Myth Dissolution Center, you play as the detective Azami, whose goal is to gather circumstantial evidence and social media posts to uncover the truth behind each urban myth, as well as the hidden past of every client and the reasons why they encountered these strange phenomena. The dissolution of each urban myth leads to unexpected consequences and hidden truths.
From the creators of Coffee Talk and What Comes After comes the slice-of-life adventure Afterlove EP, set in the Indonesian city of Jakarta, which tells a story of love, loss, and finding your own way forward. We will play as Rama, a young musician struggling to move on and heal his broken heart after the death of his girlfriend, Cinte.
In Dawnfolk, you must survive and build a city simultaneously. You’ll gather resources, develop your village, and protect it from the dark shadows surrounding you. Light is very important in the game, as you use it to explore and reclaim dark areas, which hold some of your most valuable resources. Each area presents its own challenges and mini-games, making the gameplay engaging and strategic.
Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is a narrative adventure game set in the fictional town of Velvet Cove during the summer of 1995. Four high school friends — Swann, Nora, Autumn, and Kat — spend the summer together to bond until something changes the course of their lives. After 27 years of silence, they reunite to confront the dark secrets that made them promise never to speak to each other again.
Peripeteia is a game that combines first- and third-person perspectives, blending shooter mechanics with stealth and RPG elements. Heavily inspired by the immersive simulations from Ion Storm and Looking Glass Studios, Peripeteia expands that formula with original ideas and an unexplored setting. In an alternate history cyberpunk Poland, a young cybernetic supersoldier named Marie must make her way as a mercenary in a post-Soviet city rife with corruption and opportunity.
In Die in the Dungeon, each die represents a different action, ranging from basics like attacking or healing, to empowering other dice or copying their abilities. Additionally, you can improve the quality of your dice, combine them, and acquire powerful relics to defeat the monsters dwelling in the dungeon, as you discover synergies by combining dice with unique abilities to create powerful and distinctive decks.
Set in a detailed open world inspired by San Francisco, Ambulance Life: A Paramedic Simulator gives you the opportunity to take on the role of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Developed by the creators of Police Simulator: Patrol Officers, this game offers a deep and realistic insight into the challenges faced by medical professionals every day.
