Fans of metroidvania games and dark, atmospheric adventures have something to look forward to. Chronicles of the Wolf, the new game from Migami Games (creators of Castlevania: The Lecarde Chronicles and Wallachia: Reign of Dracula), is launching this summer for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Physical editions will be available for PlayStation 5 and Switch.
In Chronicles of the Wolf, you take on the role of Matteo Lombard, an apprentice of the Rose Cross Order, who remains the sole survivor of an unexpected attack. As Matteo, you will explore a dark and dangerous world, talk to locals, collect items and weapons, solve puzzles, and face challenging obstacles. Throughout your journey, you will upgrade your abilities and fight an impressive lineup of powerful bosses.
Your mission is to hunt the notorious Beast of Gévaudan, a mysterious creature inspired by real historical events. Between 1764 and 1767, the beast terrorized southern France, killing over 100 people. In Chronicles of the Wolf, you will uncover the secret of its origins as you battle enemies and reveal hidden secrets in the open world.
The game features an eerie musical score by composer Jeffrey Montoya, with guest music from Óscar Araujo, known for his work on the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow series. Adding to the atmosphere is Robert Belgrade, the voice of Alucard from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, who serves as the game’s narrator.
