Q-Games, in collaboration with artist and director Baiyon, the mind behind the game PixelJunk Eden, has announced Dreams of Another, a third-person action-adventure shooter set to release in 2025 for PC via Steam and PlayStation 5, with support for PlayStation VR2. This innovative game subverts traditional mechanics, focusing on the creation and destruction of the environment.
Dreams of Another takes place in a dream-like world, centered on the philosophical theme of “No creation without destruction.” Unlike classic shooters where you destroy objects, this game turns the rules upside down: your shots materialize and create the world around you. Of course, there will be shooting at others, but with a purpose.
The game follows the story of “The Man in Pajamas” and “The Wandering Soldier,” two characters navigating an unreal dream world filled with peculiar characters and sentient objects. Through humorous and thought-provoking dialogue, the game offers a unique perspective on human society, the nature of the world, and the balance between creation and destruction.
