Big Fan, the publishing subsidiary of Devolver Digital, and studio Shiny Shoe have announced Monster Train 2, the long-awaited sequel to the critically acclaimed deckbuilding game Monster Train. The original game sold over 1.5 million copies and won the hearts of strategy fans worldwide. As a surprise, a free demo for Monster Train 2 is now available on PC via Steam, while the full version of the game will be released later this year for PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
Monster Train 2 builds upon the foundation of its predecessor, bringing a wealth of new content. The sequel features the familiar three-floor vertical combat system, but now you can adapt your strategy to new environments and challenges beyond the Gates of Heaven. The game also introduces five entirely new playable clans, each bringing unique strategic advantages and combat styles. With hundreds of new and familiar cards, including Room Cards, Equipment Cards, and the beloved Neutral Cards, you can experiment with countless synergies to create unstoppable decks.
New features include train customization, which allows for additional in-game bonuses, as well as an Endless Mode for those seeking an even greater challenge. There are also Daily and Dimensional Challenges, run mutators, and leaderboards, which should add a layer of replayability and competitive depth.
