Get ready to build a kingdom in The King Is Watching, as this roguelite strategy game from the Hungarian studio Hypnohead is set to release on Steam in July 2025. The studio also proudly announced that they have gathered over 200,000 wishlists so far and that their demo version has been downloaded 330,000 times, with a new gameplay trailer premiering at tinyBuild Connect.
In this strategy game, you manage a kingdom by placing buildings, planting and harvesting crops, and gathering essential resources to strengthen and upgrade. The game offers dynamic gameplay where every run is different, forcing you to adjust your strategies as you defend the kingdom from waves of enemies.
However, it is a fairly complex system of production chains and strategies; you will trade resources with villages to craft rare materials or unlock ancient spells. Furthermore, it is also essential to fortify your castle with stone walls and tactically deploy various types of troops. Every biome you find yourself in will bring even newer challenges, making the roguelite concept function perfectly in this game.
