The highly-anticipated Titan Quest II has made a huge splash, selling more than 300,000 copies in less than 72 hours since its surprise Steam Early Access launch on August 2. This impressive start easily surpasses the original game’s initial sales pace back in 2006, when it debuted at #3 on the U.S. PC charts. The game’s reception has been overwhelmingly positive, with an 84% positive rating on Steam from over 6,100 reviews.

This announcement was shared by THQ Nordic on their social media accounts. For those who are not familiar, Titan Quest II is set in a reimagined ancient Greece, a theme that has always been popular in games. Players get to fight mythical creatures like Centaurs and Harpies, and potentially even Titans.

Strong sales also point to a powerful nostalgia factor. The original Titan Quest from 2006 built a loyal following with its mix of Diablo-style combat and rich mythological stories. By offering a familiar but modernized experience, Titan Quest II has successfully brought back old fans while attracting new ones.
