Digital Sun Delays Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault to November to Avoid October Releases

Share:

Digital Sun and publisher 11 bit studios have announced a short delay for the Early Access launch of Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, the sequel to their popular 2018 indie hit. Originally slated for an October 23 release, the game will now enter Early Access on November 19 on PC via Steam and as a Game Preview on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox PC.

The decision to delay was primarily strategic, intended to give the title more visibility amid other October releases. The development team likened the original launch window to a “gem being overlooked in an overstuffed showcase,” and chose to push the date back to ensure Moonlighter 2 receives adequate breathing room and attention from players. The full release for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and other platforms will follow later, with a date yet to be determined.

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault builds on the original’s unique blend of roguelike action RPG and shop management simulation. Players once again live a “double life” as protagonist Will, adventurer who explores procedurally generated dungeons filled with enemies and treasures. Between dangerous expeditions, Will returns to manage his shop, where he must strategically price items, upgrade the store, and invest in the local community to unlock new gear and abilities.

To thank fans for their patience and utilize the extra month for polish, Digital Sun and 11 bit studios are organizing closed playtests on both Steam and the Microsoft Store. These sessions will focus on testing recent updates and changes based on community feedback, serving as a step up from previous beta phases. Details on how to sign up for these playtests are expected to be shared soon.
