If you find peace in cleaning up grime in games or enjoy a quiet tidy-up, then Undusted: Letters from the Past is your next gentle escape. This new indie game from 5minlab and Toge Productions launched on Steam yesterday, October 13, 2025. It is already popular for mixing calming cleaning tasks with family stories.
You play as Adora, a grown daughter who returns to her old family home after her mother dies. The house is full of dust and forgotten things: old photos, worn toys, and hidden letters. As you clean these items, they come alive with memories, showing laughs, arguments, and quiet moments that shaped Adora. Each piece you fix uncovers parts of her mom’s hidden life. It makes you wonder when they drifted apart and if Adora can now find peace.
What makes this game special is how simple the gameplay feels. There are no timers and no punishment if you make a mistake; it’s just you and your tools. Items cannot break, so you can easily use a soft brush for delicate spots or wipe hard on tough stains, watching the dirt disappear. The creators captured that “forget the clock and just breathe” feeling.
Players already love the game, giving it 95% positive reviews on Steam (out of 66 so far). They praise the emotional story and the calm gameplay. Undusted: Letters from the Past is also coming to Nintendo Switch October 16th.
