A new indie platformer is aiming to turn feelings into gameplay, and it might be one of 2026’s most unique releases. Studio BBB has officially revealed that its heartfelt puzzle-adventure MONOWAVE will launch in 2026 on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, and other consoles. The announcement was accompanied by a full-length trailer that showcases a world shaped not by elements or magic, but by emotion itself.

MONOWAVE places you in the role of Mono, a newborn Guardian tasked with restoring balance to a fractured world. The central premise is simple yet ambitious: reunite four scattered Emotions: Anger, Anxiety, Happiness, and Sorrow before their unchecked influence causes further chaos. Rather than treating emotions as abstract themes, the game transforms them into mechanics.

At its core, MONOWAVE blends platforming with puzzle-solving and empathetic storytelling. It’s positioned as a cozy yet meaningful experience, one that leans into atmosphere and character interaction as much as mechanical challenge.

The newly released trailer introduces stylized realms that each reflect a dominant emotional state. One example is “The Panic Jungle,” a lush but unstable world consumed by anxiety. This setting is also playable right now through a newly polished Steam demo, offering roughly an hour of gameplay and a first boss encounter.
