If you’re looking for a game that finds adventure in everyday life, Danchi Days might be worth keeping an eye on. Revealed with new trailer during the Story-Rich Showcase 2026, this upcoming narrative-driven adventure is set to launch on PC via Steam this October.

The story follows 12-year-old Hoshino Kanaoka, who returns to her childhood housing complex in Japan after spending years abroad. She soon discovers that her grandmother, once a beloved community figure, is living with dementia and that the local summer festival she helped organize has disappeared. Determined to bring it back, Hoshino sets out to reconnect neighbors, rebuild community ties, and uncover the reasons behind the town’s gradual decline.

You will spend time talking to residents, explore the neighborhood, and participate in activities that transform everyday experiences into memorable gameplay. Whether it’s listening to strange sounds, examining nature, or browsing homemade websites through the retro-inspired NeighborNet, the game constantly encourages discovery.

The game is being developed by a small team that includes Analgesic Productions’ Melos Han-Tani, and early impressions have been extremely positive.
