Shown during the Story-Rich Showcase 2026, the upcoming comedy-horror adventure Janet DeMornay Is A Slumlord (and a witch), from Australian studio Fuzzy Ghost, follows two housemates trapped inside a decaying Sydney terrace house owned by Janet DeMornay. She’s a former television shopping-network celebrity, an artist, a slumlord, and, unfortunately for everyone involved, an actual witch.

What starts as a frantic attempt to prepare for an inspection quickly spirals into a bizarre supernatural nightmare. You must clean mould, solve puzzles, explore hidden corners of the house, and uncover Janet’s increasingly unhinged secrets through diaries and environmental storytelling.

Unlike many horror games, combat isn’t part of the equation. The focus is entirely on escape-room style puzzles and exploration. Every room contains strange magical devices, odd clues, and new surprises that gradually reveal just how dangerous Janet’s plans really are.

Drawing inspiration from films like Beetlejuice and Poltergeist while borrowing classic fixed-camera presentation from survival horror games, it balances creepy moments with absurd humor. It’s a story about friendship, terrible landlords, and supernatural chaos, all wrapped into a roughly five-hour adventure.

Janet DeMornay Is A Slumlord (and a witch) is set to launch in 2026 for PC via Steam and PlayStation 5.
