Announced during the Story-Rich Showcase 2026, point-and-click adventure Servant of the Lake launches on August 13 and takes players to the infamous Vanderboom Estate long before the events of Rusty Lake: Roots. This time, you’ll experience the story through the eyes of a newly hired servant tasked with maintaining the household while slowly uncovering the family’s darkest secrets.

At first, your duties seem ordinary enough. You’ll prepare meals, clean rooms, welcome guests, and keep the estate running smoothly. As any Rusty Lake fan can probably guess, things don’t stay normal for long. Strange experiments, hidden rituals, and unsettling family mysteries soon begin to emerge beneath the surface.

The game follows the studio’s signature formula of interconnected puzzles and surreal storytelling. Everyday tasks gradually evolve into increasingly bizarre challenges as players piece together the history of the Vanderboom family and their obsession with alchemy and the supernatural.

A demo is already available for players who want an early look at the experience before the full game arrives on PC via Steam, iOS, and Android this August.
