Arc System Works has officially announced Qliphah in Providence’s Shadow, a tactical RPG set in a supernatural version of Tokyo that will launch on September 24 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
The story takes place in 2030 following a catastrophic event known as the World Collapse. Much of Shibuya has been devastated, and strange creatures have begun appearing throughout the city. You follow Souma Hoshigami and investigator Elena Hizuki as they attempt to uncover the truth behind the disaster and the growing number of supernatural incidents.
Rather than relying on traditional turn-based mechanics, battles unfold on a visible timeline where you can see enemy actions in advance. Skills can be strategically placed between attacks, while counter mechanics reward careful timing and observation.
Outside combat, you will investigate cults, mysterious drugs, and strange phenomena spreading across Tokyo. Story progression takes place through exploration and visual novel-style sequences featuring character artwork and animated scenes.
