Indie developer Ariel Coppes of Pixel Core Games is bringing retro-inspired space exploration to Steam with Ship Miner, an action mining game that mixes roguelike mechanics, cooperative gameplay and nostalgic 1-bit visuals. The game is currently scheduled to enter Early Access on November 26, 2026.

Players take control of a mining vessel tasked with harvesting valuable resources from procedurally generated asteroids while navigating a galaxy threatened by a mysterious force known as The Anomaly. Exploration revolves around mining minerals, recovering blueprints and salvaging lost technology before returning to upgrade ships with new equipment and abilities.

As players progress, they can unlock a variety of improvements, including enhanced mining beams, drones, thrusters and even space stations that expand gameplay possibilities. The adventure also includes encounters with hostile pirates and dangerous alien creatures, creating a balance between relaxing exploration and intense combat.

Ship Miner supports local cooperative play for up to four players, allowing friends to explore and mine together. An updated demo is already available on Steam.
