Indie developer Peter Lin Jr. has announced Eldread: Horrors of a Dark Moon, an upcoming roguelite horror adventure that combines survival mechanics, procedural exploration and retro-inspired visuals in a chilling lunar setting.
You lead a stranded expedition after crashing on an abandoned colony, where you must search for ship components while uncovering disturbing secrets hidden within mysterious biological logs. Limited oxygen supplies, scarce resources and hostile creatures force you to carefully balance exploration with survival as you venture deeper into the colony.
Combat revolves around scavenged weapons and a dangerous mutation system known as Corruption, which grants powerful supernatural abilities at the risk of gradually consuming the player’s character. The game also features multiple playable characters, randomized levels, investigation-driven missions and text-based events that shape each run.
Presented with a pixel-art visual style inspired by classic CRT displays, Eldread emphasizes psychological horror alongside body horror and cosmic themes.
The game is currently listed on Steam, with a release date yet to be announced.
