Starminer is an upcoming game from the studio Cool And Good Games, to be published by Paradox Arc. It allows you to take on the role of an interstellar contractor. You start with a unique ship, and your task is to gather resources from nearby asteroid fields to expand your ship and fleet. Whether you are focused on resource extraction, achieving defensive strength, promoting colonization, or something else, you must be wary of incoming enemy attacks.
Starminer, a game of space exploration, mining, and tower defense with RTS mechanics, plans to enter Early Access in 2024, according to its new official Steam page. Development plans include keeping Starminer in Early Access for approximately one year. Although the gameplay loop is different from Stellaris, Starminer shares many visual elements and a strategic foundation.
Players will create fleets to mine asteroids and defend against various threats, and the unique elements of space simulation and the real-time aspect make Starminer special among similar titles. The more you mine, the more you build, and the greedier you are, the larger your thermal signature becomes. When you reach a critical level, you will have to defend the fleet at all costs using defensive systems and ships of your own design. Also, research new modules and tools to expand your fleet of ships and mining stations and build connecting gates to access new riches in other sectors of space.
The current version of Starminer includes a tutorial, a campaign, a survival challenge mode, and a ship-building sandbox mode. Early Access will allow the developers to further develop the game based on player feedback and to add more content to these aspects of the game. “Early Access would help us realize the final vision of Starminer and allow us to develop the game with the help of players who are interested in the core vision of the game. Through iterations, feedback, and regular updates during Early Access, we want to deliver the best possible game,” states Starminer’s Steam Store page.
