Artax Games has announced the release of A Rite From the Stars: Remaster Edition, a beautifully restored version of its classic adventure game. The remaster will be available starting January 30, 2025, for PC via Steam, as well as for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5.
The story follows Kirm, a mute boy from the Makoa tribe, as he undergoes ancient rites to leave childhood behind and become a legend. Guided by Hoku, a mystical star, Kirm’s journey unfolds on the revamped Kaikala Island. However, fewer and fewer children are completing the rite, and strange events suggest that the stars themselves are in danger. With as many as six different endings, the game explores themes of coming-of-age, resilience, and discovery through an emotional narrative story.
On the Wisdom Path, you solve complex puzzles by collecting objects and placing them in the correct locations. The Courage Path challenges you to navigate the jungle and solve puzzles by simultaneously controlling Kirm and his loyal, powerful friend Mirku. The Spirit Path, on the other hand, invites you to explore the spirit world and switch between dimensions in a dreamy, alternate realm.
Kaikala Island itself is full of surprises and fun activities. You can play an orchestra with rocks, play dodgeball against coconut-throwing monkeys, escape a burning ancient temple, or even play a piano made of seagulls. The game includes 28 levels of challenge, totaling over 15 hours of content.
