Developer offbrand games and moi rai games have released the biggest update yet for Aethermancer, with the free Alchemical Awakening expansion now available on Steam. The update marks the second major content release for the monster-taming roguelike and continues the game’s Early Access roadmap with a wealth of new gameplay additions.
The centerpiece of the update is the Alchemical Woods, an alternate starting biome that introduces nine new monsters for players to recruit. Each creature comes with unique abilities, traits and team-building opportunities, while the newly added Echo monster type expands combat with fresh attacks and mechanics designed to create even more strategic party combinations.
The update also culminates in a brand-new Deity boss encounter, challenging you to master the new monsters and experiment with different synergies. As in the base game, progression revolves around assembling a party of three creatures, leveling them through dynamic skill trees, and creating powerful builds that carry over between runs.
Aethermancer combines monster collecting with roguelite progression, allowing creatures to retain strength across multiple attempts while encouraging you to constantly experiment with new team compositions. The Alchemical Awakening update is available now as a free download for all Early Access players on Steam.
