Ancient Forge is getting ready to relaunch and improve its cozy, Ghibli-inspired management game Hotel Galactic with a major update called the Winter Rework Update. The update is set to launch on December 18 and will focus on fixing core systems and better shaping the game’s overall vision. To mark the occasion, the game will also be available with a 25% discount during the Steam Winter Sale.
The development team has rebuilt many of the game’s main systems from the ground up. This includes improved NPC behavior, fixed core logic issues, and better balance and optimization. These changes aim to make daily hotel management smoother and more stable, addressing many problems raised by players since launch.
Alongside these fixes, the Winter Rework Update adds several new features and quality-of-life improvements. Players will be able to track their progress through a new rating system, learn more about the game using a hotel compendium, and manage guest needs in greater detail.
The update also expands building options with extra floors, allowing players to create larger and more detailed hotel layouts. Other improvements include a redesigned research tree, a cleaner interface, and smarter worker behavior to improve the game’s pace.
It will expand the early part of the game with new story content, which includes a full VIP questline focused on Princess Pavonis, giving players more narrative depth early on. Ancient Forge has already shared a teaser for this storyline, along with a developer video in which the technical director explains the rework process.
