As Expected, The Legend of Khiimori Got Delayed

Aesir Interactive, the developers behind The Legend of Khiimori have announced a delay for the game’s Early Access launch, pushing the release date back from its original window to March 3rd, 2026. The decision, made in collaboration with the publisher Mindscape, comes directly as a result of the “overwhelmingly positive” fan reception during the recent Steam Next Fest.

The development team explained that the feedback and high engagement during the event led them to reassess their timeline. They determined that taking more time would allow them to create a significantly more feature- and content-rich experience for players.

“While this does mean that you all have to wait a little longer to get your hands on Khiimori, it also means we’ll be able to make sure you get a better game when we do release into Early Access,” the team stated. The developers believe the delay is the right decision to establish an “even stronger foundation” for collaborative development once the game enters Early Access.

As a direct result of the postponement, Aesir Interactive is offering fans an extended opportunity to play the current build. The demo, which was originally slated to go offline on October 20th, will now remain online until November 30th, 2025.

During the extended development period, the studio will focus their primary efforts on several key areas to optimize the experience before the March launch. These planned improvements include:

  • Player Guidance and World Experience
  • Camera, Controls, and UI
  • Technical Performance
  • Content Expansion
